Seizures

 Status Epilepticus

Levetiracetam

Status Epilepticus

- 1 to 3 grams rate of 2 to 5 mg/kg/minute

- 40 to 60 mg/kg single dose over 5 to 15 minutes w/ parenteral benzo

Focal onset seizures and generalized onset seizures

- PO 500 BID increase 500 q2weeks to max 1.5grams BID

- IV 500mg BID q2weeks up to 1.5grams BID

Valproate Sodium

- PO 10 to 15 mg/kg/day complex partial seizures or 15mg/kg/day absence seizures

status epilepticus -  loading 20 to 40mg/kg rate of 10mg/kg/minute

Lacosamide

Status

- 200 to 400mg single dose then 200 to 400mg /day in 2 divided up to 600mg/day
