 Diaphragm and bell

Diaphragm:

  • High frequency sounds
  • Systolic murmurs, S 1, S 2, Ejection clicks, Opening snaps are high frequency sounds.

    Bell:

  • Low frequency sounds
  • Diastolic murmurs, S3, S4 are low frequency sounds.
  • Bell with applied pressure behaves like diaphragm.
